Anyone else caught that this is somewhat of an odd aspect of the film (M$B)? If you haven't seen the film, don't highlight. The meaning, as we, who have seen it, know, is: "My darling, my blood" Now, obviously, this sets up one of the heart-wrenching parts of the film (I gave into being a 5 year old sissy girl at that point - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() *Potential Spoiler* She still doesn't know the meaning after all that time? And she's supposed to be an international star who has been on magazine covers and all that? Thing is, one way or another she would have found out. So, here's what I figure: -We can just let it pass, ignoring it completely (which I'm more than willing to do) -She already knows, but wants him to tell her. hey, the girl's had a rought time, and as she said earlier on, no one since her Daddy had told her he loved her. -She tried her best to not find out the meaning; if the coach didn't want to tell her, it's just as well. I find that hard to believe, but it's possible. What do you guys think? |

She might know, but I don't think she's gone out of her way to find out. Maybe indirectly. It says a little about her that she didn't just go on to the internet at the public library and look it up herself, she wanted him to open up to her about it's meaning like he told her he would. Her personality is such that she might not care about publicity or celebrity and might not read any of the rags or stories about her. It's never really mentioned after the initial time he gives her the jacket that she doesn't know what it means. |

My guess is that Maggie knew that Frankie picked out the nickname for her without him really wanting her to know what it meant. Since she trusted him completely, I'm (guessing) she decided to "respect" his wishes and never really look it up or anything. She was just "Mo Cusha" (or however it's spelled). |

Just got back from seeing it ![]() that sequence was a very, very touching moment and it ![]() i would like to think that she was far too busy in her fighting world to find out what it meant or for someone else to tell her. it'd make 'me' happier and all warm inside. ![]() lol or not. |

It's very possible that she didn't read any of the press concerning her. A lot of celebs stay away from that, but you would think that there would be a mention of it at a press conference by a journalist, since people chanted it at all of her fights, but Frankie seemed the type that would have derailed the question if he didn't want her to know it's meaning. Since he ordered her robe, I got the sense that he knew what it meant, but , as "Scrap" made mention, he wasn't the most open fellow in the world, so he probably didn't want to get all mushy with Maggie and let her know how much she meant to him. When he did tell her, it was all he had left in his heart to give. |
