Post subject:  Quentin Tarantino on Martin Scorsese/THE DEPARTED
In April 2004, Quentin Tarantino accepted a interview with a Hong Kong newspaper.

In the interview, Quentin Tarantino says that Martin Scorsese is the God of American directors. But Quentin also feel sad for Martin Scorsese, because he doesn't know why Martin Scorsese wants to remake a Hong Kong movie.

Quentin also says several "mistakes" of Hong Kong movies.

PS: THE DEPARTED is an US remake version of this movie.

He just signed Jack Nicholson up for this too. Quentin doesn't understand why he would want to remake a Hong Kong movie? Marty probably doesn't understand why Quentin wanted to remake (sort of) Casino Royale, or even direct a Bond movie.

I doubt Marty thinks much about QT.

Remakes are a tricky business but I'm sure Marty will do just fine.

Oh yeah, he was very public about wanting to do that. He and Pierce Brosnan both wanted to do it, and QT stated he could do it for 40 million dollars, he wouldn't do anything foolish like ruin the character, and they could go right back to how things have been afterwards if they wanted to. They wouldn't do it, Brosnan walked away from the role for some reason, and now the producers are apparently going to do Casino Royale with Martin Campbell directing and haven't casted Bond yet.
