Quote:
New Line has tapped Shantel VanSanten, Bobby Campo and Hayley Webb as the stars of "Final Destination 4."

Nick Zano, Krista Allen and Andy Fiscella round out the cast.

David Richard Ellis, who helmed the second installment, will direct the horror-thriller. Story kicks off when a teenager's premonition of a deadly racecar crash spares his life and those of a few lucky others. But death continues to stalk those who escaped it.

Eric Bress penned the screenplay.

New Line is shooting the latest chapter, budgeted at $43 million, in 3-D. The previous three "Final Destinations" have grossed more than $150 million at the domestic box office.

Principal photography begins this month in New Orleans.

VanSanten recently finished production on Roland Joffe's "Finding TATU" alongside Timothy Hutton, Mischa Barton and Anton Yelchin.

Campo's credits include the UPN series "South Beach."

Webb appeared in the TV series "Shark" and "Close to Home.

3D must be expensive, but I'm in the mood for more FD.

Any word on who's character has the premonition? Seems to be a dude's turn. I was hoping for some diversity among the premonitioner this time around, seems to be just another pretty white person.

:disgust: Says the whitest girl around :funny: No reason to mess with a formula that has worked splendidly.

That's a pretty hefty price tag.

I would say it's a safe bet for New Line though. 3D + Return of the director of the best installment in the series should = big bucks.

for a horror franchise, $43m isn't too bad. I mean, it's not like any of the Saw movies have epic car crash sequences; a budget like that was necessary.

The 3-D thing will add on a good $10m+ to its total domestically, methinks. They'll be doing this not-stupidly, meaning it'll be in a normal amount of theaters, with as many 3-D as possible, right? Like it could be in 3000 theaters and 600 3-D theaters.

Final Destination is my favourite horror movie franchise. It really is scary shit. I mean death chasing you and you cannot do anything to stop it is scary stuff.

Who ever created this franchise deserves props.

I would guess next January? They usually have a 3-yr cycle (2000, 2003, 2006)...

Well, best or not, it was the least successful installment of the franchise...

That said, it's a safe bet, obviously. The franchise has its fanbase and I see a $50+ million total in the States and around $100 million worldwide again for it.

Big (for a horror film) budget = big accident so I'm very happy.

Great. I think that consistency in release actually helps it. Doesnt feel like overload.

Final Destination budget:-$23M
Final Destination 3 budget: $25M.
Not sure about FD2.

So it's quite a jump in budget.

But look at the worldwide grosses....FD ($112M) FD2 ($90.4M) FD3 ($113.3M)

They'll easily make their money back.

I cannot wait for this film!
