Actually wouldn't this be 3? Rogue hosted a second version that started off well but died when he stopped updating the scores.

Anyways I'm gone from Feb. 6th to 22nd so I probably won't be able to play

I would like to join, but it seems this is a game more for North American and Canadian players. If it involves watching new releases in theatres, you can forget me, as many movies open in Europe a couple of weeks later than in the USA.

it does not. There are points assigned to new releases, but its fairly minimal.

Loyal, two things:

I think there should be bonus points for movies seen in theatres vs. those seen at home.

Second, weekend new releases? I suppose you'll have to check which films are new releases in each country since there will be international players.

Eh, Jon, I dunno. At least for me, as a foreigner, it would be much much much harder (i.e. almost imporrible) to simply get to them since we don't quite have something as extensive as, say, Netflix.
