Bale would play Melvin Purvis, who led the FBI's manhunt for Dillinger and captured more public enemies than any other agent in FBI history. It was Purvis who uttered, "Stick 'em up, Johnny" when he confronted Dillinger in Chicago.

That'd definitely be another American Gangster. Which such a director and cast and some solid marketing, $120+ million is assured.

I miss the days when gangsters and criminals had twee nicknames. There's something about a gangster called 'Babyface Nelson' that makes you want to forget about all that murdering business and just tussle up his hair, the ol' rapscallion.

Sounds like another Oscar frontrunner.
