Post My Bloody Valentine 3D
Someone tell me why no other film has even come close to matching this film in 3D effects. Doesn't seem like it would be that hard. Sure, 3D worked as a whole for Avatar, but nothing in that movie compares to the eye or the bullet from My Bloody Valentine. If you are one of the fortunate ones who have a 3D TV then pick this up as soon as possible.

They spent so much time creating it, nearly bankrupting Creation Records. And Shields hasn't been too productive since.

I hopped theaters from MBV3D to Coraline 3D. The latter had much, much better 3D, imo.

Actually, I think the best 3D I've seen to date has been made by Robert Zemeckis. Beowulf 3D and A Christmas Carol 3D both really played with depth of field and long, flying shots. I thought My Bloody Valentine's 3D frequently made scenes look like they were dioramas. Live action 3D is a tricky thing to pull off... And of course post-conversion only makes it worse.

I agree, in particular about Beowulf. Some of the best use of 3D so far....and that almost three years ago!
