And Alvin Sargant is the Man to carry on the continuing stories of Peter Parker/SPIDERMAN.. I guess SONY can't make up there mind whether they really want to stop with just 3 movies in the SPIDERMAN franchise or make more.. Myself?? I say why stop??? :-k Look at the amount of $$$ both movies have generated domestically and the countless array of villains SPIDERMAN has... I know Kirsten Dunst's has gone on the record as stating that she quote: "Has no idea why anyone would even bother with a 4th film and that she was committed with 3 but not signing on for a 4th film and the same was said for Toby Mcguire and Sam Raimi as well".. On that note, I say why not milk it and enjoy it while it lasts?? It's not like Kirsten Dunsts has anything better to do and based on her last film about the Tennis Star that flopped miserably, I say she should count her blessings and keep her mouth shut and go with it..

Meh, you still have to respect actors for not wanting to stick to one movie for a few years. Not every actor needs to be in the high-grossing films and be typecast in those same roles. On a fan's point of view, I hope they do come back. They make a great duo in Spider-Man. Would Jake Gyllenhaal be a definite strong contender to play Spider-Man if Tobey steps down?

Kill off Dunst if she does not want to come back, and bring in a new love interest, she is the weakest link in the chain. If Raimi and maguire wouold come back then I think she is expendable.

Yeah, I realize I've stated that Hollywood beats alot of deadhorses when it comes to stuff like this, but I think SPIDERMAN is the exception cause he does have the most creative villains and if Sam Raimi is the *ONLY* Director to do them and make the stories as good as what he does?? Then I wouldn't mind this so much and really it's the only exception to the rule.. This character has the best potential out of any MARVEL or DC Character out there and I agree with Roger Ebert: I think the Academy needs to recognize SPIDERMAN II as a BEST PICTURE Contender and why not??? A Fantasy like LOTR broke the trend of Academy Members not nominating Fantasy films and it won.. Who's to say a well done comic movie like SPIDERMAN doesn't deserve that same shot?? :-k

I actually enjoyed Wimbelton. Yes it was cheesy but it was fun and cute. Normally I would say ack its a Dunst movie run the other way!

So basically, you only want people to milk what you like?

Oh, and I agree: Spider-man 2 should get a nomination. I would really like to see an action film like Spider-man get a nomination. It'd be totally deserved.

I'm not a Spidey-Buff, but I don't think MJ gets killed off in the comic books, but I really have no idea. If they're not looking to stay SOMEWHAT (big accent on that) true to the comic, then they can. But, I thought she was a main character, too.

Actually, she does get killed in one of the new Ultimate Spiderman Comics I believe..

Hey, what I like is generally what everyone else likes and with SPIDERMAN, as long as Raimi is attached to the franchise and it doesn't get taken over by (GASP) Joel Schumacher and Spidey Nipples begin to appear, then why not?? Raimi so far has put out 2 high quality Superhero movies of this franchise that can be considered probably one of the greatest, if not, the BEST Superhero movies ever made(Sorry folks, but you know it's true), Plus the amount of Supervillains Spidey has could go on for some time.. Spidey has more in his stable of Villians than the weak ass character of BATMAN has, at least villains people care about.. See?? The problem with this new BATMAN has 2 things going against it:

1) No matter who's directing and writing this BATMAN BEGINS?? There are gonna be alot of folks not willing to tune in after the last 2 failures, not to mention the fact that this is the 5th movie in the installment which will hurt it as well..

2) The Villians for BATMAN are practically all used up and even David Goyer was quoted as saying: "Once you use the Scarecrow/ Ra Al Ghul villains, then your hitting rock bottom on villains that everyone has already seen" What's left that hasn't already been done??
:-k

Because LOTR wasn't simply a well done fantasy movie, Spiderman 2 on the other hand though was just that, a well done comic book adaptation, nothing more.

What you did in the first paragraph there was flaunt your opinion as fact:

Do you know the difference between opinion and fact? Opinions vary form person to person, and, yes, some may not have liked either of the movies. They might not want to see a third installment. I know plenty of people who didn't like them: my father, for instance. What amy not be milking to you is milking to them.

Look folks, like it or not, SPIDERMAN II Definitely has to be probably the BEST Comicbook adaptation made and based on the amount of $$$ both movies have grossed in domestic terms only, I'd say concensus has it that it was the BEST PERIOD.. Not even BATMAN or SUPERMAN or even the X-MEN or The HULK could outdo it at the box office.. FACT is is that SPIDERMAN II is hands down the BEST... That is a FACT.. Looking back on all the people in the internet world that said they didn't like this movie or thought it sucked are just sucking on sour apples over the fact that there favorite movie franchise or favorite movie PERIOD didn't make what this movie did and it's a hard pill to swallow and a little jealousy mixed in with it as well.. Sorry but it's true Insomniacdude.. SPIDERMAN II was the BEST and as long as Sam Raimi is attached to this franchise, the 3rd movie will not be any different in terms of it's success.. Get over it folks..
