Times like this make me really glad I don't live in places like that. What a stupid, pointless thing to do.

That is...silly, yes.
To be fair, though, the scenes with Chow Yun-Fat were by far the most pointless in a movie filled with many pointless scenes.

Well he could have been editied out before but now that part of the movie just wouldn't make any sense.

Pretty much.
I wish those scenes had been cut out of our prints, too.

"The previous installment in the franchise, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" was banned by the Film Bureau because of scenes of cannibalism and ghosts."
Wait a second, so films can be banned for having ghosts in them?

Oh I've heard more bizarre reasons again given by the Chinese censors office.

That's retarded considering Chow Yun Fat is probably the biggest draw to this movie in China.

I don't know why since Chow-Yun Fat is huge in China.
And it's funny how this one is allowed to be released in China, when DMC wasn't. AWE is the darker of the two.

I'm surprised they didn't release DMC, but an edited version.

you're talking about a country that still cuts peoples hands off and shots them in the back of allies. I'm not surprised at all.
