I'm liking the adventurous feel the bottom pic with Adrian Brody has, but for the love of God, I'm sorry but Jack Black really does look wrong for this film and will turn this into "Mighty Joe Young" in the end and ruin this... You be the judge..

I wouldn't count this out just yet. Perhaps black is there to add comic relief?

Yeah but see, that's the problem: You don't want comic relief in a movie like this, otherwise that's where it goes down hill... The Original KING KONG didn't have humor that I can recall and I've seen that so many times and I just watched the 76 version of KING KONG a few months back and I didn't see any humor in that one as well.. If Peter Jackson's attempt is to recreate the original and update it for a new generation, then leave the humor out of it and with any luck, Jack Black will be the 1st victim.. I really hate to bag on the guy cause he's generally a good comedic actor, but this film and Jackson's casting of him is absolutely boggling to one's mind.. :?

I do think it will do well, if for the mere fact that it has Peter Jackson's name attached to it, plus it's opening Christmas and will remind people when LOTR was coming out then at Christmas as well and play a factor in it's success.. For me though?? If you've seen 1 guy in an ape suit and animatronics like the 76 version of KING KONG, you've seen em all and a 2nd remake really was unnecessary but will see.. I'll still check it out..

Jack Black probably can do some serious acting if he tried, but his face just makes me expect that I am going to laugh at some point. He has a goofy face. And, while I'm watching, I'll be awaiting a Tenacious D song and dance number.

That would be fucking awesome, singing "The Road", would crack me up!!!!!!

The pics are okay. Adrien Brody pic is the best, i hope this isnt going to a 90 minute film, would be shite if it was, it should be a 2.5 hr film, or longer ;)

Black would not have been my choice for the role either, I am skeptical.

Then again I also thought Elijah Wood wasn't a good choice for Frodo, and Liv Tyler was a crap choice for Arwen.

I am not really anticiapting this movie that much to begin with, I was never fan od Kiing Kong anyway, so if this doesn't get good reviews I won't see it.

Well, he does run a negative campaign, however as more pictures are released from the film, my anticipation continues to wane.

Lets all give Jack Black a chance yeh, he could prove to be a real good actor and could be the best thing about the film, you never know.

To be honest, there must have been a reason for Jackson to pick him.

Actually the Carl Denham character protrayed in the original King Kong is an eccentric over-excited PT Barnum type. Which would fit Black's bill. In case some people have forgotten Black has played serious roles in the past (Enemy of the State comes to mind, and there was another film which I saw on cable where he played a serious srolke but Ive forgotten the name).

Not that BKB's opinion matters since nearly every one of his predictions is wrong..

What I can't fathom is that BKB thinks that just because an actor plays a majority of comedic roles that he is incapable of anything else.
Do you think that Jackson is on the set of Kong without any control over what Black does at all???
Jim Carry may not be the greatest dramatic actor but I think he's proven that he can play serious roles....And he acts even wackier than Black in his comedy films(And in interviews too). The same could be said for Robin Williams, or Tom Hanks.

Oh and BKB.... First you say that Black "will Kill" the movie and then you say the movie will "Do well"... Which is it???

Will he kill it or will it do well???

Or can't you make up your mind?

Look you fucking PJ dick sucking clown.. If any of you read, actually READ my post when Lovemerox asked how I thought this movie would perform, I said that it would do well simply based on the fact that Jacksons name is attached to it and it's coming out at Christmas and being played off the whole LOTR Phenomenon around that time of the year with it being released then.. It will remind moviegoers of that and that's exactly WHY Jackson is releasing it at that time, to have LOTR help it's campaign out.. I do find it baffling that of all the actors out there, Jackson would choose this guy and obviously, I'm not alone when I say that this movie should NOT have any comedic elements going for it if Jackson's sole intent is to recrete the original and update it for todays moviegoers being all about TEENS.. I also sauid that I would see this movie you fucking Dope and give it a chance just like I did with LOTR and if there is anything positive to say about this, is that I'm certain it won't be as boring as LOTR was and be 3 and half goddamn hours long, which is entirely too long to expect me to sit through something like that... Just relax Raziel and put Jackson's dick back in your mouth like a baby needing a Pacifier when it needs to shut up..

Once again, The only thing I've said negative about this was Casting Jack Black and obviously, there are others who feel the same way so put that in your pipe and smoke it Kid.. Gee?? I wonder how many times Peter Jackson had to tell Jack Black to relax his eyes more which is what I read in a set report that apparently Jackson is having troble curbing Black of doing??? Gee Jack, not showing up to the Set everyday after many of Bong sessions now huh?? This is KING KONG Jack, not an ORANGE COUNTY sequel with Colin Hanks you dope..

I like Jack Black, but I have to agree with Mr. X. If he's supposed to be serious in this flick, I don't see how that will work as I'll be expecting Black to be his usual self. And, if he's supposed to be comic relief in typical Jack Black fashion, I don't think that will mesh at all with the tone of King Kong.

On paper I don't see this as working, but will do my best to reserve judgement until I see him in action.

Maybe YOU should read your own posts. You said it would do well right after you said Black would "Kill it". If Black "Kills it" how the hell can it do well you schumuck?

So what's it gonna be , BKB??? Is it gonna be killed by Black or will it do well???

This is yet another example of you making a moron of yourself.

Im sure you find things such as first grade math and sex also baffling but that's besides the piont.

I never said you weren't going to see this movie you dope.

On the contrary, I knew a fanboy schmumck like yourself wouldn't be able to keep yourself away.

Agreed  It would take nothing short of a miracle to push BKB's attention span past the 2 hour mark.

 This coming from a guy who was using Paul Andersons nutsack as bubblegum during the AVP movie campaign.

Very nice BKB, you managed to write all that crap and didn't explain how a movie could do well and still be killed. The movie either DOES WELL or is KILLED, you idiot... It can't do both.

Once again BKB shows just how moronic his posts are.
