It's true... face it.

Last Crusade was funny, but it was also stale and kind of silly- not in a good way.

Now we get another one 19 years later. Harrison Ford is a mid-60s alcoholic who appears to have lost all of his great movie star charisma. Spielberg, although I know some diagree with me, hasn't made a fully satisfying film in 14 years. Sean Connery won't sign on the dotted line. David fucking Koepp wrote the damn thing. Lucas needs no introduction.

Indy movies are awful now.

That's all.

Well, I thought the title humorous. And this isn't a big gag; I hold all the above sentiments.

I hate Indiana Jones too. Silly, juvenile films without any redeeming qualities.

I don't think any of the Indy movies are awful, although the new one shouldn't be happening in any way.

Connery saves Last Crusade.

Au Contraire, Connery ruined Last Crusade.

I refuse to say more on the matter.

I especially hate the one with the big bouncing ball. I found that to be quite homophobic, actually.

Connery was the saving grace of Last Crusade, what hurt that film for me was the early part with River Phoenix, he was miscast.

its hard for me to imagine that the new movie will be any good. i still hope it will make a shitload of money, indy deserves way more attention than a faux-chise like pirates of the caribbean.

Frank Darabont would've been sooooo much better.

Am I the only one to think that the only movie that Frank Darabont has ever written/directed that's really worth anything is The Shawshank Redemption?

I guess... I really liked The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption.

Well, I do predict the 4th Indy movie to suffer from The Phantom Menace backlash based on a whole bunch of hype like Menace, treating it like an event and after you were finished seeing it, you couldn't believe what the hell you just watched causing one to suffer from a bad case of denial over it..

Connery was awesome in The Last Crusade! He brought another dimension to the film, not to mention some class.

I think these massively respected film critics echo my sentiments exactly:

Roger Ebert:
Quote:
...and we meet his father, Professor Henry Jones, who is played by Sean Connery on exactly the right note.

Like the fathers of classic boys' stories, Dr. Jones is not a parent so much as a grown-up ally, an older pal who lacks three dimensions because children are unable to see their parents in that complexity. I kept being reminded of the father in the Hardy Boys books, who shook his head and smiled at the exploits of his lovable lads and only rarely "expressed concern" or "cautioned them sternly." Since the Hardy Boys were constantly involved, at a tender age, with an endless series of counterfeiters, car thieves, kidnap rings, Nazi spies and jewel thieves, their father's detachment seemed either saintly or mad - and Connery has fun with some of the same elements.

Probably but David Koepp isn't exactly the Uwe Boll of writing. He's written some very good movies.
