![]() Have you ever found yourself pulling lines from a movie, and everyone around you looks at you as though you may, perhaps, be a bit kookie? But you don't really care, because you're too busy laughing at your own inside joke? Of course. Well the title of the thread should give it away. What are the one-liners that will remain with you for far too long? I already called band camp and the flute, so y'all have to come up with other ones. ![]() |

Darlin', I am always getting looks as if I'm kookie, but until now, I never knew why. ![]() My best friend and I are very good with remembering dialogue, and either of us can pull out the most obscure dialogue, and even give the delivery of the line in the actor's voice in some cases, and crack eachother up while onlookers are slightly baffled by our laughter. ![]() When I don't have him around, I don't just blurt out random dialogue like that, but I still use movie dialogue all the time, while trying to convince the unsuspecting that I'm clever and witty and original. ![]() |

Office Space is a classic. I love the annoying boss. ![]() I love this part: Joanna: So, where do you work, Peter? Peter Gibbons: Initech. Joanna: In... yeah, what do you do there? Peter Gibbons: I sit in a cubicle and I update bank software for the 2000 switch. Joanna: What's that? Peter Gibbons: Well see, they wrote all this bank software, and, uh, to save space, they used two digits instead of four. So, like, 98 instead of 1998? Uh, so I go through these thousands of lines of code and, uh... it doesn't really matter. I uh, I don't like my job, and, uh, I don't think I'm gonna go anymore. Joanna: You're just not gonna go? Peter Gibbons: Yeah. Joanna: Won't you get fired? Peter Gibbons: I don't know, but I really don't like it, and, uh, I'm not gonna go. Joanna: So you're gonna quit? Peter Gibbons: Nuh-uh. Not really. Uh... I'm just gonna stop going. Joanna: When did you decide all that? Peter Gibbons: About an hour ago. Joanna: An hour ago... so you're gonna get another job? Peter Gibbons: I don't think I'd like another job. Joanna: Well, what are you going to do about money and bills and... Peter Gibbons: You know, I've never really liked paying bills. I don't think I'm gonna do that, either. ![]() |

I'm sorry, but this movie was so funny! It has to be one of the best films ever. Bill Lumbergh: Milt, we're gonna need to go ahead and move you downstairs into storage B. We have some new people coming in, and we need all the space we can get. So if you could go ahead and pack up your stuff and move it down there, that would be terrific, OK? Milton Waddams: Excuse me, I believe you have my stapler... Milton: Excuse me? Excuse me, senor? May I speak to you please? I asked for a mai tai, and they brought me a pina colada, and I said no salt, NO salt on the margarita, but it had salt on it, big grains of salt, floating in the glass... Mexican Waiter: Lo siento mucho, senor. [Under his breath] Mexican Waiter: Pinche gringo. Milton Waddams: [as the waiter walks away] And yes, I won't be leaving a tip, 'cause I could... I could shut this place down. Sir? I'll take my traveler's checks to a competing resort. I could write a letter to your nation's board of tourism and I could have this place condemned. I could put... I could put... strychnine in the guacamole. There was salt on the glass, BIG grains of salt. |

I also quote my favorite movie alot, particularly the line below, but most people don't get it. "It is not only possible, it is essential." |

Heh. One of my friends, he always quotes the section from High fidelity where Cusack compares dating women to the cotton and silk underies. He thinks its the perfect metaphor, I don't think anyone else except for his friends realized that he got it from a movie. Everyone else would just look at him funny because he'd randomly start talking about panties. ![]() What about Life is Like a Box of Chocolates? Remember how much that came up immediately after the movie? I still use it, but I always corrupt the second half of the sentence. Life is like a box of chocolates....so you better not waste money on an assortment you'll mostly dislike. Or something like that anyways. I put the little girl voice on and quote Cane Toads too. "And sometimes I caaaaaaalllll him Caaaaaaaane Toads." That one really gets blank stares. Uh-oh....here comes Clue quotes. ![]() "I'm going home to sleep with my wife." (#1 most recognizeable line in the movie) and, Col. Mustard: How many husbands have you had? Mrs. White: "Mine or other women's?" (That one comes up, but not as often, and it usually involvs some creative license to fit it into a conversation, but then again, most of these quotes do). |

I'm always quoting this one part in star trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Whenever someone or something pisses me off I scream out in anger "Khaaaannn!" Just like in mav's sig ![]() |
