New "Fantastic Four" Video Proves Tim Story Sucks
http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=19048
I know I said I was taking some time off from the Net for a couple of weeks and I still am, but I was at Harry Knowles site, AICN and they had a Video for the upcoming Marvel Adaptation of "The Fantastic Four" and I couldn't resist posting this and the verdict after seeing this?? Well, all I can say is that Tim Story CLEARLY was the wrong director for this movie and also, The Thing NEEDS to be 100% CGI and looking at him in this, you can tell and see the wrap around costume of rocks he's wearing that's so cheap looking, that I can't honestly see how anyone can even get worked up in excitement over this.. I'm sorry, but my official prediction for this as of now, Dec 29th, 2004 = BIG TIME BOMB!!!!!! It also proves that some comics just aren't meant to be made into movies and this is one of them.. Cheers..

It's really hard to tell from that grainy behind the scenes footage anything about the movie as the finished product usually looks so different than BTS footage. But, have to agree with your initial assesment that it has all the makings of a potential bomb.
As for the Thing, I don't think it matters if he's CGI or not, as long as it looks cool in the end. Judging from this footage, it doesn't look like the best costume. He looks more like a low rent Hellboy without the color.

For some reason, the foam padding of The Thing's costume just reeks of being too CHEAP... The Thing should've been 100% CGI all the way and only give brief glimpses of him VS the other characters which come off more human, plus, The Thing NEEDS to be much much larger.. Remember that this was a character in the comic that took on the HULK on more than 1 occasion and look how big the HULK was???...

Oh come on, you're trusting Hairy Bowels? I've heard that studios often send him false stuff and stories just to keep him looking goofy and on his toes.

Well it's hard for me to disagree with him on the points he brought up about this movie like it being too low budget and the Thing's costume looking like some sort of wrap around shit instead of making him all CGI like I've been saying they should've for the last 3 months now.. I also think that in order to do this properly, your going to have to shell out some CASH$$$$ for good FX which FOX seems to be scrambling to do now thanks to The Incredibles overshadowing this movie that's not even released yet...
