Alexander the Great
Since the release of the failure "Alexander", does this film have a chance? Its about the same story, Alexanders Conquer. Do you think that the recent release has affected this film? I say yes, because I think most people will be turned off but then again it is looking for a 2006 release so it will give it time to people forget about "Alexander".
Here is some info from Yahoo!
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Nichole Kidman
Directed by: Baz Luhrmann
Release Date Note: (11/18/03) The original target release date for this project was the fall of 2004, and then the fall of 2005. With the news that the earliest this movie might start filming is September, 2004, sometime in 2006 now seems the earliest it might reach theaters (and even that is shaky, with news that filming might get pushed back another two years yet).
Distributor: Universal Pictures

Hopefully will be a welcome change after Oliver Stone's stinker.
The story of the greatest emperor in history deserves better than what Stone served.

I agree, jb007. A real movie should be made. Maybe, not quite so soon though.

I agree, the material they have to work with is great, if they can do a great job, it should be good. Stone couldn't it seems.

They might delay it due to the horrible perfromance of Stone's movie. In fact that would be prudent.
BTW, will this be a musical? or is El_masked_esteROIDe_user saying it because it is being directed by Luhrmann.

Folks, the fact is that Baz Luhrmann started this project before Oliver Stone did, then after he heard about Stone's intention and how much Warner Bro. is behind the film, he stopped his, so I'm not sure this will ever resume again. It has been removed from IMDb long time ago.

That is good. They should make an epic which is more like Gladiator/Ben-Hur.
