Seeing the tv commercials for the Wizard of Oz - Made 65 years ago - I thought it still holds up pretty well. ------------ What are some of your favorite classic movies ( Guess classic means different for everyone - some it probably would be pre 1990 - for me I think of them Pre 75 period - Rocky, Jaws, Star Wars. ) Here are some of mine. More to come later. - Planet of the Apes. - His Girl Firday. - Casablanca - Spartacus - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Rear Window - 12 Angry Men - North by Northwest - It's a Wonderful Life - On the Waterfront - The Apartment - It Happened One Night - The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance - Witness for the Prosecution - Roman Holiday - The Conversation - Harvey - Laura - Bonnie and Clyde - The Thin Man - In the Heat of the Night Etc. |

I recently watched Roman Holiday for the first time and was glad I did. Audrey Hepburn was an incredibly beautiful woman. |

3 cool choices - Quiet Man - John Wayne, in a non Western, with a young beautiful Maureen O'Hara. - Oliver - one of the big early musicals ( I think about 1969 ) as Phantom is fast approaching - Roman Holiday - Geogory Peck and Audrey Hepburn in a timeless unconventional romantic movie that just flies by as you are watching. |

I was driving down the street the other day and I almost drived off the road! On a billboard, I saw DOLCE VITA - I thought for a second Dolce was making a nationwide speaking tour. ![]() La Dolce Vita (1960) Directed by Federico Fellini Tagline: The world's most talked about movie today! |

Just flipping through some cable channels. Ben Hur is on, a great movie, but I am not interested in watching a 3.5 hour movie right now. This movie has some of my favorite individual scenes, one off base one was around the whole slave ship ordeal. So flipping some other movies, I came upon Harvey with Jimmy Stewart. It's funny, the movie has started already and I am watching it in the middle and I wasn't even planning on stopping. BUT After watching 2/3 scenes in the middle of the movie, it is just a brilliant charming well written, acted movie. Just another movie classic, IMO. |

Yes, i like all films, not simply "classic" films or just "modern" films, i will judge each as it comes. Some good classics are: Rear Window Spartacus The Maltese Falcon Cant think of many, but there are more obviously..... ![]() |

Just look at the thread titles to see that happens. |
