I've suddenly become very curious of your thread, although I'm sure your "must see" picks will annoy me to no end! ;)

Well, now thinking, guessing by action you'd might include movies such as Indiana Jones, so will go with horror as well.

Oh, I didnt specify, it was just to show five film categories, you can pick any of the five film categories together.

So you can pick any of these two
War, Western, Crime, Drama, Musical, Sports

Man, all these for horror, I can only state suprisement, they are going to be very easy ones. I personally think that either Romance or Popcorn will be the hardest of the categories. But like I said, they are going to be films everyone should know of, and hopefully seen, so I leave the choices up to you.

I'll watch all genres of GOOD movies -- the problem is that there are fans of one particular genre who accept just about everything in that genre as good. Horror fans think that "Nightmare on Elm Street" is classic filmmaking while those of us who don't like horror think it stinks for instance...

No, we think it is classic filmmaking because it is. And for once, most critics actually agree that Nightmare is one of the genre's finest.

Oh sure, but understand that just because I may not agree with your lists doesn't mean I'm not a film fan...

For something like this, I think I would use the IMDB list probably which I think gives a good indication of what film fans think are the "must see" films.

Believe me, IMDB is very much a factor to me in my choices. My personal opinion has been taken out for the most part. I've always been a critical thinker. Many of the films I would never put in my lists, because they are too whether it be commercial or too many people love them.

And no thats not the point of the thread, everyone here is a film fan, that part is understood, were just gonna see who's explored a little more

I'm thinking about removing Sports since I'm not the biggest fan.

I'm guessing some of these films will be included.

Field of Dreams
Rocky
Caddyshack
Raging Bull
Hoosiers
Major League
Bull Durham

Two questions because I'm slow when it comes to this thread for some reason.

1. Can I still sign up?

2. What exactly are we supposed to do again?.

1. Yes you can
2. It's basically just me trying to show that I can pick a Universal set of films that most people have seen, to help establish those who more about movies then others. I mean, its easy to know a lot about one genre, but to know 11, it shows more skill. Like earlier stated the films will be universal classics of the genre. My opinion is not going to matter that much, as Im thinking rather critically.

I have given you three films that you havent been able to see and one genre that you feel you might miss more than others. All you have to do is say Im in, and the genre you want out. Then by the end of the night I will post the films.

For those of you that are involved, If you don't get to post what you are eliminating by tonight, I trust you to be on the honor system. Even if you see the list and then eliminate the genre, its all good.

But here is the list of people involved.

Baba- Horror
Yoshue- Horror
Nebs- Horror
Jmart007
Groucho
The French Man
Riggs
Baumer
Loyalfromlondon
Kypade

One more hour until stop the official entries, those that are silently playing along, good luck to you as well, but please more entries.
