How the Hell Did Lassie Turn Out to Be Good?
84 on Metacritic with 10 reviews (#9 score of the year).
96% on Rotten Tomatoes with 22 reviews (#4 score of the year).
I don't remember the last time I was so flabbergasted by a film's praise. I'm beginning to wonder if I should try checking this out. . .

Um, I didn't even know they were remaking this. Seeing as how I haven't seen the original (Bits and pieces, but not the whole thing) I probably won't check this out.

critics seem to dig solid old fashioned films that remind them of the golden era of hollywood filmmaking, movies devoid of high concept plots and postmodernisms.

Is it a remake, or just another movie in the long line of Lassie movies?
It doesn't surprise me to see good reviews. You just can't go wrong with the story of Lassie!
