"Fangoria scored some sweet news today for all you Dracula fans out there: Blue Tulip Productins and Atchity Entertainment are teaming up to produce a sequel to Bram Stoker's DRACULA!

And not just a sequel to Francis Ford Coppola's DRACULA either, but after the novel itself. Written by Ian Holt, the flick's tentatively titled THE UNDEAD, and it takes place 25 years after the original novel finished. We get to follow Jonathan and Mina Harker, Van Helsing, and... well, Dracula of course- battle it out in a whole new tale of horror. Sweet!

Jan De Bont, head of Blue Tulip Productions, is out to find a director for the project- and they're looking for something a little higher class than DRACULA 3000. Check it out:

“We’re going after someone who knows how to do big-budget, adult Gothic horror with top A-list actors like SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. We’re not making a B-movie teen slasher film here. This is the DRACULA [sequel] the true fans have been waiting for.
”"

I was never happy with any Dracula movie. So I like to hear that news. A dark Dracula movie really could be badass.

Yeah, sounds cool.

Undead is a really crappy title though. Sounds like a crap DTV zombie film.

So who will fill Keanu Reeves shoe in the new Dracula sequel? I suggest Paul Walker or Freddie Prinze Jr

Awesome. Dracula is one of my favorite books and I enjoyed Coppola's film quite a bit (Keanu Reeves nonwithstanding).

This has potential and could be well done like Bram Stoker's DRACULA was with the right cast and director..

I'm not much for horror, but I really like Coppola's Dracula too! If only he had cast it better. I for one didn't think that Winona Ryder was worth crossing oceans of time for (or whatever.) The costumes and makeup (YAY Oscars!) alone were worth the price of admission.

And I don't really care who they replace Keanu Reeves with. ANYBODY, and I mean ANYBODY, would be better than Keanu Reeves. Orlando Bloom would work well.

I am not saying that Reeves is exactly De Niro or Hanks...but even he is about 100 times better than Bloom.

Bram Stoker's Dracula is #77 on my all time top 100 films list so anything in a similar vein would be fantastic to me.
