Dude, I can go to the watercooler right now, list the top 10 underwear brands and end it with discuss as well.

Could you please write more than just a list of movies and make it a little less open ended. Some commentary is usually nice and being more spcific when creating a title helps as well.

Sorry but in my threads, I like to keep the first post free in case people want to copy down to discuss. Discussion can come later.

And since this is about one of the most agreed best actors, I think he deserves a thread.

Goldie, please post a commentary right away and more of a purpose to the threads.

There are countless actors and actresses and directors and screenwriters that are deserving. I do not want to see 500 threads on each of them for the purposes of nothing more than 'discuss'

No, close it if you want. I can't do it now.

I'm not gonna close it.

Just put commentaries next time and be more specific about what your thread is about .. not so open ended.

I agree. Next, we'll be seeing "Discuss Ben Affleck". Just saying "Discuss" doesn't really do much. If you have a REAL purpose for opening a thread, and a legite question or discussion topic, go right ahead.

Of course Z, I do seperate threads on Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp and you bring up Ben Affleck. Nice that you always supply the worst opposite answer.

And the purpose of the thread was to have an open discussion about his whole great career.

Not too hard to figure out.

Well, it could always come to Ben Affleck when you run out of people. And, it's better to ask questions like "What's your favorite Tom Hanks movie?" for the topic of the thread. Not "Tom Hanks, discuss him".

OK if that will make you happy I will change it.

And as I did 2, I am not going into your other comment.

Who cares!

It is a thread, it is not a duplicate, and its not a two word meaningless post. It would be nice to see more of Goldies opinion in the first post, but if he doesnt have time then so be it!

If people are intrested they will talk in the thread, if they are not, it will fall to oblivion. I say let our users decide! We have multiple threads, and this is a discussion forum, not all threads are going to be tracking or things of that nature.

And personally ... I love Tom Hanks ... but I havent seen the Terminal yet. Forrest Gump is one of my all time favorites.

I agree, Eagle. Seriously guys, lighten up a bit on Goldie. Just because he starts a thread doesn't mean you need to scrutinize him completely. Tom Hanks is deserving of a thread like this.

Now, onto business, I really liked Tom in The Terminal. More of a sad film, but he was still great in Forrest Gump. I think my favorite is Tom in Toy Story. Him and Tim Allen were great voices.

Nice words as I remember the speech that you gave in the ending of your Scrooge movie.

That said, I am glad that people are finding their own direction, without my discussion or analysis, on how to comment on Tom Hanks career or your favorite movies. God, it's Tom freaking Hanks.

Lots of great movie choices but I am going with the anti Tom Hanks movie role where he played a bad guy. I just liked the grittiness of this movie and role.

Road to Perdition (2002) .... Michael 'Mike' Sullivan

Can't really argue about that.

Road to Perdition was an amazing movie, it was just so great to watch Hanks character grow in the movie, really touching, and made the ending hit home even more. A great movie no doubt, different style and feel, but still ... not as good as forest gump.

I'm gonna have to go with either Bachelor Party or Joe Versus The Volcano. I must've watched Bachelor Party about 40 times when I was a kid. It's funny, it's sexy, it's 80's through and through - plus it co-stars TJ Hooker's Adrian Zmed and notorious sex bunny Tawny Kitaen. Pure movie magic.

Joe Versus The Volcano's just great. Magical, whimsical, daring, bizarre, and just a little bit crap. It's a film that should never have gotten past the script stage, but the fact that it made it all the way to being a big budget Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan rom-com fills me with giddy glee and hope for all of Hollywood.

Favorite: Philadelphia

Least favorite: Road to Peredition (Jude Law and the cinematography were the only good things about this film)
