Van Helsing - B+

Some very horrible acting (Dracula's brides... *shudders*)

I actually think their OVERACTING was intentional.

But, anyway.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003): **1/2

Stylish, yes, but I didnt like seeing the same stupid crap (car not starting, woman standing their screaming while her friend is being cut up instead of RUNNING) that seems to be in every horror film.

I didn't say they were bad, well White is but Red and Blue aren't. True, Red is no Two Weeks Notice but it has its good points.

I've seen both, and would say that I prefer the Colors trilogy over Two Weeks Notice.

I didn't care for TWN as much as other people did and I'm a fan of romantic comedies. There were just some bits that I didn't care for like the camper scene and the un-funny dialogue that brought down the pace and overall presentation of the film. There was some chemistry between Grant and Bullock, but it wasn't nearly as emotional as the Colors trilogy.

I was just teasing DV earlier, no worries.

I finished the qatsi trilogy and I have to say I'm alittle underwhelmed with the last two films. They were definitely superbly put together films, but just not anywhere near the power of Koyaanisqatsi. I would say that Powaqqatsi was a solid film, definitely worthy. On the other hand, Naqoyqatsi felt disjointed and didn't flow at all. So you could say the trilogy definitely went downhill after the first film.

I'm still very happy I got the chance to view the trilogy however. As a whole, it was a masterpiece.

The School of Rock - B

I was somewhat disappointed after having rented and seen this movie. It is good, actually, but doesn't deserve the praise it has gotten from most people. It is a feel-good movie with great references to classical rock music. Jack Black is a blast and the child actors are pretty good and act very well for their age. This movie's biggest problem is that I didn't find it funny whatsoever. I think a laughed a total of one time during the whole movie and for a film that is supposed to be a comedy that is rather poor.

I think the thing is that I remember before this movie was about to come out, a lot of people made a lot of fun of it. It was a jack black movie and had such low expectations that when the critics and the audiences saw it first weekend, they were pleasantly shocked. So was I. Ofcourse, it does seem like I enjoyed it waaaaaaaaaaay more than you ofcourse but I think thats one of the reasons why it turned out to be a let down for you .. cause people made it sound much much better than it really was.

Shaolin Soccer- A
How the hell did this great piece of clever slapstick gross less than 500k domestically. It makes me so angry! . But just thinking about this movie makes me happy again... :D

Uh, Shaolin Soccer was garbage.

Seen many 0-0 football matches that were multiple times more entertaining then this movie.

The Usual Suspects - A

One of my top 10 movies of the 90's. This is my third viewing, and it is a case where even when one knew the ending, it still has great repeat viewing value because it has such a great acting ensemble. Gabriel Byrne, Kevin Spacey, Kevin Pollock, and Del Toro all gave great performances. And there isn't really a hole in the story. Kint was basically using whatever information that McManus provided him and updated his story along the way. He didn't mention Keyser Soze at all until McManus asked, nor did he say anything about no dope on the boat until McManus did.

Ugh, The Cat in the Hat. Worst. Movie. Ever.

Anyways...

Van Helsing- B+

Horrible acting and mediocre story, but damn, it was a hell of a fun movie.

The Grudge- A

Scariest movie I've seen in a long, long time. One of the few movies that actually makes me jump.

Surviving Christmas- B-

Funny, but not hilarious. Definently a good Christmas movie, if it was actually released... during Christmas.
