 Re: Inexplicable Rotten Tomato Ratings
Rocky IV and V are rotten as well. Granted, maybe V can remain rotten, but IV being rotten is absurd.

Older movies' RT scores are even more unreliable than current ones.

Rocky IV is probably the most popular films among of all time for guy films after Commando and Road House, ironically they both are 38 and 39. Mission Impossible being the lowest of the series is crazy. Granted II is 6% lower but that is one of the worst sequels ever made. Dumbing things down really made critics love that series. I guess most critics like the more TV approach it took.

 Re: Inexplicable Rotten Tomato Ratings
The Book of Henry at 23% is definitely inexplicable - critics went out of their way to shit all over this fine film - I'm still trying to figure out their motivation for assassinating it at the box office.
Additionally, though I wouldn't go so far as to say "inexplicable", Baby Driver at 97% and The Big Sick at 97% are both far overrated.
These latter two scores are good examples of the weakness of Rotten Tomatoes review aggregation system. If you scan down the individual reviews, you see that quite a few have grades of "B" or "3/5" or "6/10".
Some movies which are just okay, get a huge bump in overall RT score because their reviews are marginally positive - for example, a film that is gradedl 6/10 by every single reviewer would score 100% fresh on RT.
