Try to keep it classy, kids.

Question: I see JMART has Predestination on his list, however I wasn't sure what year that movie's release would fall under. 2014 or 2015? If 2015 it would currently make my list at #4

Still a lot to see, with only three really remarkable stand-outs. Might be awhile before more viewings as I have just moved to the mountains

1. Ex Machina
2. Inside Out
3. Mad Max: Fury Road
4. Steve Jobs
5. Cinderella
6. The Martian

Guilty pleasure award: Magic Mike XXL (runners-up: Pitch Perfect 2, Kingsman: Secret Service)

According to IMDb it was released in the US on January 9th of this year. It was at a few festivals and was released in a couple of Asian and European markets along with Russia in late 2014.

I go by the US schedule because I live in the US, but I could see an argument for either year.

I'd sure like to, if Algren agrees to keep my name out of his mouth. Anyone else on here would've snapped far earlier than I have if they received this kind of constant antagonistic bullying, especially directed at a woman.

Believe me, I would love to have actual film discussion in this and other threads, maybe talking about *why* I loved Spotlight and the other films on my top 10. But apparently I'm not allowed to do that. Being rude and attacking me for it is more commonplace and acceptable.

He's the one creating a toxic atmosphere that I can personally vouch for having driven away a number of prominent, insightful posters from the board permanently.

Does anyone actually like coming to KJ to talk about movies anymore, knowing that sniveling lil' Algren is lurking in the background waiting to be an asshat to everyone?

No need to keep it classy with Algren. Tear him a new one. He has deserved every bit of vitriol spewed at him.

I think people here have long moved past giving Algren's comments more weight than to those of an old lunatic on the street corner shouting about the impending end of the world, thus I don't think he any longer creates any atmosphere. Though I must admit, the fact that he apparently procreated is baffling.

Our fellow Algren has a thick skin. Or at least he should.

I treat you the same as I treat a guy. Live with it. And bullying? lol. Get used to it. This is KJ. You have to be able to live with little digs. If I am guilty of bullying, then so is our upstanding moderator, Dr. Lecter (on zwackerm), Chippy (on everyone), trixster (on Americans, and basically anyone too), The Dark Shape etc. etc. the list goes on. Don't be such a pussy. And using the "this place would have the traffic of Facebook if only Algren was banned" routine is fucking ridiculous. This place is dead because it's created for a niche interest and because there are many more platforms (where the owners actually inject a little cash) that do the same.

I know what you are, Libs. You're a product of the incessant PC disease that has taken over society. The type of moron that would get a man fired on grounds of sexual harassment just for wolf-whistling or saying "hey darling". This world wasn't created just for you. Get a fucking life. Learn to deal with shit. What I do is so innocent, but you always throw your toys out the pram and make it into a bigger deal than it already is. Grow up.

I mean, this speaks for itself.

It floors me anyone could actually accept this as a reasonable response to his behavior. It's basically the equivalent of "I'm not doing anything wrong because FUCK YOU."

Can't wait until someone comes in here and tells me, Oh, Libs, you need to ignore Algren. Oh, Libs, you need to let this go. Oh, Libs, Algren is harmless. That's the even bigger problem here, and shows why KJ is a microcosm of our sexist society.

I mean, I'm sorry I'm cluttering up this thread and completely getting it away from what it's supposed to be. But this has been a problem here for a DECADE. Between Joe, BKB and Algren, there's a really vicious element of harassment that has been going on in this forum. How am I supposed to feel when most of it is directed at the forum's ONLY woman?

Algren is, and has always been, a piece of shit. Him saying "I treat you like I treat everyone else" is 100% false. Also, Libs never said this place would have more traffic if you weren't here, she asked if anyone CURRENTLY here enjoys coming here despite your presence. There's nothing "PC" about what Libs is doing. You constantly follow her posts around and make snide ass comments about her taste in film and being a woman. It's honestly frustrating to read.

And honestly, China is the only place you could've procreated because men are "gods" there. Actually, you'd probably do well in the Middle East, too.

Algren needs something else to draw away his attention. A bigger forum would suit him.

I know for a fact of people, who have left because of Algren. Also, I do know that he does inject life in the forums AND he has supporters as well, who probably only think what he dares to say, hehe.

WOKJ has long adopted a very very laissez-faire aproach, but do not think that Algren's actions ar not being monitored or occasionally discussed behind the scenes.
