Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, I'm trying to understand this. Millar's brilliant plan is to get Warners to agree to reboot the franchise they just rebooted and shoot three films at the same time? That can't be true. If the first one fails where would that leave them - with the two most expensive DTV films ever made? How much does he think Warners is going to spend on another reboot?

Is it too late for Warners to call Singer back and kiss his ass?

I think it's a great idea.

Who is this mysterious American director?

*Reminds self* - Always watch the video before you post.

To Millar's credit he said all the right things for someone who likes the Donner series. I mean to go as far as to buy the dead cat from the first film is a little sick. Now whether or not that means anything in the long run (like say he might get the job) at least he's a fan of and knows how Superman works up on the big screen. Just as long as he doesn't re-invent the wheel (which from what I read before it seemed like he was going to do just that) I could get behind this. I still think the three-picture deal is a little risky though. Get the first one out there and then shoot the others back-to-back.

It has to be Michael Bay right?

That's the rumor which scares the hell out of me. The film would make a shitload of money but you could pretty much count on there being no human emotion whatsovever during the film. In other words he's probably Warners dream pick. Hopefully they'll pick someone outside the box though like they did with Nolan, Burton and Donner 30+ years ago.

I just can't think of another name that fits all the clues.

It'd be funny if he actually turned out to be talking about Richard Donner again. That wouldn't piss too many fanboys off. :funny:

I forget what all the clues are but wasn't one of them that this mysterious person has worked with WB in the past and was very successful with whatever film that was? If that's true that actually crosses Bay off the list.

I pray to god Millar isn't thinking of Zack Snyder. He already turned Warners down and seems to pretty much hate the character so hopefully it's not him.

That leaves.....

Richard Donner
Tim Burton
Chris Columbus
Martin Scorsese (maybe not.......)
The Wachowski Brothers
Steven Soderbergh
Robert Zemeckis
Edward Zwick

Well at least Superman doesn't have the potential even in the worst case scenario to become another "The Island".

Isn't this gossip from, like... 6 months ago?

And I think Bay could make an amazing Superman film.

It started about six months ago but it's come up again since Millar won't stop talking with the recent news and all. To his credit he might get the job that way.
