 Re: KJ User's Top 100 Lists Vol.2 - Squee
Number 89: 28 Weeks Later Yup another 2007 film but before you deride me for being a man of shallow cinematic taste let me say this………………….Go Fuck a Train…………………..actually no that’s harsh, for one Trains are painful to have pleasure time with, instead must give reasons! Now I’m a big Apocalypse cinema fan so iconic visuals are something I’d be a massive sucker for and this film has them in spades. Still even that isn’t enough, or Heaven forbid I’d have Damnation Alley on this list as well, and that’s a nightmare scenario. Thankfully 28 Weeks Later is injected with class A steroid’s so a top 100 place is assured in my eyes.

Number 88: Michael Collins Being Irish it think it’s written somewhere in the constitution that I love this film or men in black masks would knee-cap me. But I digress; this is in all seriousness Jordan in top form spitting out the type of quality most Hollywood directors would give their right nut-sack for. I’ve even chosen to ignore Julia Roberts’s interloper in this ensemble.

Number 87: Magnolia Mmmmm multi-stranded cinema with a kick ass soundtrack, me likey!! Not sure what I can say about from a personal viewpoint, Ummm I cried a few times, the interlude with all the characters singing was sublime and hot damn Tom Cruise has terrible taste in underwear!!

 Re: KJ User's Top 100 Lists Vol.2 - Squee
Number 86: Below What do require from my Horror movies? Pretty simple really, I require it to either give me the willies or cardiac arrest. Below does this, and does it well. Like a genetically modified kitten that decided to crawl up your leg it doesn’t lay the horror stall out straight away, instead teasing you…………….until its mouth opens and the razors show and I turn into a gibbering wreck.

 Re: KJ User's Top 100 Lists Vol.2 - Squee
Number 85: Battle Royale It’s a Japanese film, with kids an island and lots and lots of blood and guns, hence you can colour me satisfied. Yes there are deep subtexts about adolescence and violence, and the de-humanisation of western society and such but hey lets talk about them later!! Or if Makeshift or Kypade require massaging of their juicy cinematic brains that can also be arranged.

 Re: KJ User's Top 100 Lists Vol.2 - Squee
Number 84: Alone I tracked this film down for the sole reason that it’s the spiritual follow up to Shutter, and also because distributors are so bloody shoddy that by the time we get an official Western release of this thing I’ll likely be an old man! Thankfully this film delivered on what I wanted. The following is what I can remember me doing for the 90 minute running time Me: This doesn’t seem too bad, those Heart paddles might not be needed and…..CIEWUIUHVWIURHWW9UERHV9!!!!!!! Film: MWUAHAHAHAHA………….I laugh at your fear, and now time for more jumps and screaming audio cues and freaky Asian horror. Me: Whimper Whimper. Yup this film is pants browningly good, and hence fulfils top horror requirements as listed earlier.

 Re: KJ User's Top 100 Lists Vol.2 - Squee
Number 83: Buffalo Soldiers A black comedy about corruption and crime in the US Army, yup no wonder this thing was a poisoned chalice to release after 9/11. Pity really because well………..I love it. Phoenix has a fine line in laconic and laidback. Ditto for Ed Harris’s doddering Officer, and Anna Paquin manages the miracle of looking hot despite horrendous 80s fashions.

Number 82: Copland Oooooh Stallone in obvious Oscar Baiting, time to sharpen my claws and rip it to……………..Fuck this is actually great. Ok yes, its not very original and large parts seem to have run out of the gangster/underdog/murky cliché book but again I enjoyed it, and since its my list its deserving damnit!!

 Re: KJ User's Top 100 Lists Vol.2 - Squee
Number 81: Mad Max Hmmm what to say on a personal level. Well its an Apocalypse film which immediately gets my attention in the same way the ghost of Buster Keaton climbing into Yoshue's bed and offering him sexy time would. The low-fi budget and distinctly 80s styling actually work for this to boot, althou I'll freely admit the method of showing speed by increasing how fast the film goes is hilarious. Oh and Mel is totally badass, curse his silly drinking way!!

Number 80: Intermission This film is bloody hilarious and captures Dublin city life pretty damned perfectly (at least from the 3 years I lived in the place). Still watching films like this makes me want to feed Cillian Murphy the poor stick insect and the fact I found Shirley Henderson attractive even with the tache is very disturbing

Number 79: Kelly's Heroes So yeah, an old childhood favourite of mine thats still kept its shine while the Care Bears movie has dissapeared into oblivion. Oh Clint, remember when you used to make films that were fun, and not baiting me like a giant fish laughing at my poor line skills. Films like this one, with its great cast, and witty script and a the barmy spectacle of Oddball and his blaring music. I miss those Eastwood days

Number 78: Moulin Rouge The following is the events that lead to me watching Moulin Rouge Chatbox Roo: I hate life Me: Hmmmm wonder whats on TV tonight Roo: However I hate you more Pad, in fact I've constructed a voodoo doll and will shortly begin work on killing it! Me: EEEEEKKKKK!!!..........oh bugger Moulin Rouge was on and I missed it Roo: You've never seen Moulin Rouge (drops Knife) Me: No My chatbox is then raped by numorous Moulin Rouge clips, and amazingly I liked them all including the amazing credits theme!! Curiousity sated I rented the film and it was bloody amazing. Great music, great comedy, great story and the miracle of Nicole Kidman actually looking hot for once!! Yup so much to be thankful for. An excellent film and Roo didn't end up killing me

Number 77: The Terminator Mmmmm 80s fashion horrors and music......................and killer robots!! I actually perfer this to Terminator 2 for the sole reason that the T2 thumbs ending is so stupid I almost always choke on vomit. No trite nonsense here, bar maybe that sex scene with the big hair ballad and soft lighting. Yes if this had bombed Cameron could easily found work as a classy porn director.
