 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
1. Avengers 2. Guardians 3. Winter Soldier
4. Thor 5. Iron Man 6. The First Avenger 7. The Incredible Hulk
8. Iron Man 3 9. Age of Ultron 10. Iron Man 2 11. Ant-Man 12. Thor 2
The last group is B+ and Bs. So even the worst is still pretty solid entertainment. And I think the top 3 matches up well with Nolan's trilogy, though I'd still give Nolan the edge. TDK is still way beyond any other superhero movie.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Hmmm...
01. Guardians of the Galaxy 02. Iron Man 03. The Avengers 04. Iron Man 3 05. Thor 2: The Dark World 06. Thor 07. Captain America: Winter Soldier 08. Captain America: The First Avenger 09. The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron 10. Iron Man 2
I find it hard to rank The Incredible Hulk. I know it's part of the MCU, but it feels very detached from it. Also, I very much love Mark Ruffalo WAY better as Bruce than I do Ed Norton, though I liked him well enough in TIH.
I haven't yet had the chance to see Ant-Man, sadly, so cannot rank it yet.
PS: Chippy, The Dark World was all about one of the Infinity Stones (the Reality Stone, contained in the Aether), as was Age of Ultron (the Mind Stone); so I'd say those two movies definitely have something "to do with the rest of the series" considering the MCU is heading toward the Infinity War.
PPS: I'm with Algren - not even remotely interested in SS. Looks like they're trying to copy Guardians but without any of the vibrance and good humor.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
There was no stone I could see in TDW, as I just watched it. And no normal person is going to know the stone is "in" the Aether, it was never implied or shown.
And I haven't seen Ultron in a while, but I don't remember how the Mind stone was obtained? Did it just appear on Vision?

The Mind Stone was what powered Loki's staff.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Each Infinity Stone has a "containment unit." The Aether is the CU for the Reality Stone and is the only non-solid CU; the Mind Stone was within a protective casing in the scepter. Here's all the info on the MCU-related canon for the stones: http://marvelcinematicuniverse.wikia.co ... ity_StonesEDIT: Oh, and people are pointing out that the stone within the pendant Doctor Strange is wearing in the promo pics looks like it could be the Time Stone. So that's five stones represented so far in the MCU. Just need to see the Soul Stone show up.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
I'm pumped for Civil War, both with the great early buzz it's getting and how the Russos already delivered my favourite of the MCU films with Winter Soldier. They just have a way with getting the best out of their characters (Cap, Widow, Falcon) that others don't quite manage.
1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 2. The Avengers 3. Guardians of the Galaxy 4. Iron Man 5. Avengers: Age of Ultron 6. Ant-Man 7. Captain America: The First Avenger 8. Thor 9. Thor: The Dark World 10. Iron Man 3 11. Iron Man 2 12. The Incredible Hulk

When you look at the actual list it's funny how Marvel is so praised lol. Winter Soldier is the only film I'd say is pretty great. After seeing Civil War I do think it's on the upper tier of the MCU but I wouldn't rank it above Winter Soldier. I didn't love Civil War coming out of the theater but I was pretty pleased with Age of Ultron in theaters, although that one didn't hold up that well when I rewatched it... Idk.

At least in the Guardians of the Galaxy it made sense.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
They have a whole two movies to explain it. So far it's just been glimpses. If you're like me you at least somewhat understand and recognized them in Thor's big dream/ vision.
Though to be fair I feel like 5 marvel films now the stones have played a major part. Both Avengers for the one, CA for the other and Thor 2 and Guardians. I doubt Super GA grasp the connection yet

It's kind of his only scene in AOU. In fact they do it twice, in case you were pissing the first time

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Watching now. Was that not in the theatrical cut? Because I do not remember that in the theatrical cut.
Also, that scene is a little like the JL scenes in BvS...

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Didn't Guardians do a decent job of explaining the stones? If I remember right, it had a pretty nifty scene quickly showing all of the stones up to that point in the series.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Guardians did the best job of it. Which is why Guardians, outside of the awkward dancing scene, is one of Marvel's best movies.
