 Re: Tim Burton's Worst Movie

I don't get all the Alice in Wonderland hate. It's not the best film in the world, but it was enjoyable enough. More a misfire than an out-and-out bad film. That's the thing with Burton, even in the films that don't quite hit the target, there's still plenty to admire.
Unlike Planet of the Apes, which is just flat-out awful.
His best, meanwhile, is still Edward Scissorhands. Or Beetlejuice. Which is probably why I'm getting so excited about Dark Shadows as it looks like a fun mix of the two. Other than a few very pretty set pieces a couple stand-out comic moments, what was so admirable about Alice? It started as a mediocre ode to fairy tales and ended as a LOTR clone, with JD and HBC, both of whom I like a great deal, being vastly over the top and unfunny.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Been a while since I've seen Apes, but if you go by some here, Apes was an underrated gem. I never got that back then.
It's like bad movies take a decade to digest, then they're underrated classics.

His movies taste like fast food. You crave them but they leave a bad taste in your mouth.
