Thats bull, although Its Cameron's baby, it wouldnt have been nearly as popular if OJ Simpson took on the original role. It was Arnolds Charisma that brought back the 2nd film, and the third. Yeah and if Arnold had starred but it was directed by Jason Lee it wouldn't have made as much either. Your post is silly. Arnold was an important factor in the first one's success but by no means irreplaceable. He wasn't even that well known before the first Terminator, he wasn't the main reason people went to see it.
I didnt say for the first film, I said the 2nd film. It turned a cult favorite into the number one franchise of the early 90s. Carpenter had never seen a film over 80 million. I'm not saying Arnold was the main factor, Im just saying he was just as important as James Cameron.

I have, many many times.
I don't find the character of John Connor very interesting.
I just find Terminator to be very good sci-fi action of which the highlight is Arnie and his action scenes.

I'm probably the only one that really feels they should've just ended it with T3.. This is an example of beating a dead horse now and conjuring up one last payday for a has been actor turned Governor..

I wouldnt call him a hasbeen actor at all. Afterall he went off with a bang and still will be known as one of the top 100 most important actors in film. Say anything you want, but T3 although did weaker than expected domestically (Pirates took away more or less 30 million from its total) It was a monster hit WW and on DVD. Not many people have ended their careers with their highest profit on a film, a critical and fincancial hit. The last one to do it before Arnold was Jerry Seinfeld.
