I find that surprising. Seems like a no-brainer as the effects can obviously be improved on ("Anty" comes to mind). 2019 will be its 30th anniversary. They could reuse the same plot of the neighboring kids who don't get along being shrunk or something completely different. All they need to keep is the obvious shrinking of the kids.

Maybe the flopping of a film like downsizing slowed them down, last I heard they had a story back when it was announced last year. I didn't like the sequels or the TV show though. But the original still holds up. And with the digital age there could definitely be some fun with it. That could take a lot of rewrites. Or maybe they keep taking all the good ideas and add them to Ant-Man.

I remember the different attractions at the different parks. They had the 4D show at Epcot, the Giant Park at MGM, and of course they had the Green Screen where you could reenact the Bee Scene.

The concept is always fun, but it has worked with kids the best. Hell I'd even say this would have been a great idea for Toy Story 4.
