*World* Members Top 100 Indies and Documentaries
Okay guys, I want to compile a members top 100 list of the best of the best indie and documentary films. So, be picky, only suggest which films you think are worthy, and they don't go onto the list until at least one second member concurs. Then they make the cut and go on the list.
I'll throw out some suggestions in awhile, but I need to eliminate some of them first.

Meh. It's alright. I wouldn't call it an A+ film, though.

I...didn't...pay...attention to that. I was, obviously, thinking of well known directors who started out kinda small with little gems.
Before Sunrise and School of Rock were better. But, I always liked Dazed and Confused...I'm trying to think of the other films Linklater has done.

Hmm. American Splendor. Well, I doubt I've seen 100 indies, but, is it worthy of an "A+"
I'll get back to you on that one.

I dunno about Silence of the Lambs. It was produced by United Artists, and I think that MIGHT have been the Indie branch of MGM at the time. Or was it a different studio?
Anyways. What I NEED to know is if Spinal Tap counts. I don't know if Spinal Tap was Reiner's debut.
But, regardless, any Spinal Tap fan can't mention it without including Waiting for Guffman
Prob. the best mockumentary, asides from Spinal Tap.

Erm. Is it really an indie? I mean, $25m-ish budget? It was independent though...
Whatever. A+ quality? Ya, sure. But, fine. I'll be tolerant.

Yes it is considered an indie. Gibson paid it all out of his own pocket I think. don't worry mata, lol, its just cause no one visits this forum. as soon as people start peeking in other than MODs someone will notice your suggestion.

Or my fave of his,
Best in Show. Its a toss up for me if Guffman or Show is better, so I'll let someone else second them if (s_he wants.

Blah. TIS A DISGRACE!
Anyways. This is Spinal Tap was Rob Reiner's debut. I think it's fair to call it an indie, no? No mainstream actors, low budget, etc.
Certaintly, in the topsy turvy world of heavy rock, having a good, nice, and solid piece of wood in your hand is OFTEN useful!
And, btw, makeshift, how come you haven't mentioned any low budget Romero films? Fine, I'll say it. Night of the Living Dead

While it's still an indie at heart, Best in Show was a bit more mainstream. You can tell from the set designs, etc. But, the more Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy in the top one hundred, the better!
