Well I guess i could try watching it with you. Is it kind of the same premesis? The thing about Night of the Living Dead, it was a pretty tightly knit movie. The ending was interesting, but it didn't leave me feeling the same thing could happen again. His death made me sit there and think even more than the zombies, how many people had the officers killed. Sort of a, if the ailment doesn't get you, the remedy will. That point was made, so I don't see how the sequel could be added? But I remember other posters saying Dawn of the Dead was excellent, and even better than Night too, so when do you want to watch it?

I've seen it, and I have to say it is even better then Night of the Living Dead. Definately scarier, gorier and even more of a masterpiece.

This one is a lot more graphic and violent than Night, so it would be advisable not to eat right before you watch it. A lot of the makeup and effects look dated, and you can see the limits of the tight budget, but you can't beat this movie if you want to be genuinely scared.

Ok. I'm in. I'll plan a meal 4 hours earlier, and you can be sure I'll be watching it smack dab in the middle of the day again too.

When are you up for it Adam? We're watching Bride with White Hair this weekend, so it'll have to wait until a little later I think, but besides that, I'm pretty open. Eh, between this and Amityville, you guys have to do me a favor and let me pick the next "horror" film and it'll be a bit less horrorific!

Adam, I will try to watch it then, if not, I will see it saturday afternoon after my morning class. i have to watch it during bright daylight hours. :wink:

I'll watch it again this weekend. We should make it a double feature with the remake. Then Dolce won't sleep for a week. :wink:

Lecter has just informed me there might actually be some content in this film?!?!? I'm getting excited, since up until now, I've felt the horror movies I've seen have been mostly about style, and build a decent sense of tension, but don't do anything with the viewers attention above that. I have always wondered about it since recent horror ones take place in the suburbs. Basically, there is a great built in criticism (or could be) of suburban culture, not knowing your neighbors, the myth of a neighborhood community that certainly doesn't exist, etc. But its always stopped shy of that by just making it the sotry of last (wo)man standing.

I'm very excited that Dawn of the Dead might actually have some undermessage.

Dolce, there are a lot of undertones in the film. In a lot of ways it is a social commentary rather then just a horror film.

The gore really isn't too intense actually. Yes it is present, but not shockingly so. Just watch it, that is all I can say.
