Wow. Finnally Lindsay got it right http://et.tv.yahoo.com/newslink/index.html#l2 "LINDSAY LOHAN GOES COUNTRY February 7, 2005 Teen beauty LINDSAY LOHAN will need to tone down her usual Hollywood glamour to play a down-home prairie girl in a movie about a small-town country music station. According to "The Insider"'s MARC MALKIN, the 'Mean Girls' star has been cast in 'A Prairie Home Companion,' as the daughter of one of Hollywood's most legendary actresses, MERYL STREEP. The upcoming ROBERT ALTMAN project is expected to begin filming in April. Country music favorites LYLE LOVETT and TOM WAITS will play singers in the movie, while renowned author GARRISON KEILLOR, who wrote the screenplay, also joins the cast. |

Oh, Altman sounds like he's returning to the Nashville routes, which is exciting to me, since Nashville and Gosford Park are my favotire two movies by him. I don't think its a big deal for Lohan though, unless she gets a more central role, since LAtman tends to have these massive ensemble casts that include everyone equally. I believe he did Dr. T and the Women with many tween stars (at the time) like Tara Reid, and it still seems like Tara is running around demanding people respect her as an actress. ;-) We'll see, Lohan might be fine in it though, and I think Altman is the kind of director that could really help her transition from pop princess starlet to mature actress in the eyes of an audiance. I wouldn't be surprised if Dakota Fanning pops up in one of his movies a few years from now when she's ready to make the transition from being considered a child actress to an adult one. |
