Now here's an inspirational movie - the true story of Burt Munroe, the 70 year old New Zealander who dreamed of setting a speed record with his 1920's Indian motorcycle at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Anthony Hopkins was note perfect. This is the most inspirational movie I've seen in ages. I can only laugh at reviewers who said it was "the world's slowest movie about the world's fastest Indian" - if anything, it's way too short - I coulda spent all night listening to Burt's stories... It'll have to be an unbelievably great year for movies if this one doesn't make it on to my top ten list for 2006. 6 out of 5. |

It's an '05 release. It was given a platform release in NY and LA on December 7th for a possible nomination push for Hopkins. It would be like calling The New World a '06 release. Glad to hear it's good, though. It's playing at the art house, so I just may check it out. |
