I haven't seen it. Just clips of Vincent Cassal, which were touched upon in the extra features for Crimson Rivers. Apparently Crimson director saw Hate and just knew Cassal was the man he wanted to star alongside Jean Reno.
I also know it was mentioned numerous times right before Irriversable came out, because of the similar physical yet vastly different motivational characterisation of Cassal.

It was very good. Very well done.
I recommend it as a MUST-SEE to anyone. Quite reminiscent of American History X. Actually, having been released 2 years before AHX, I wouldn't be surprised if the idea for History was taken from this (unless it was adapted from another source).
It's about racism and class society in France.
