Some movies do very well in many countries; but they never come to US. Some example: 1. Battle Royale It is a internalional box office hit that gets many amazing reviews, But it never come to US. Reason : It seems like that Toei has "all or nothing" policy.... Several US companies wanted this movie, but Toei requested too much. When no US companies could fullfill all of those requirements, Toei decided to not sell this movie to US companies. 2 Three Times Hsiao-hsien Hou's news film which is getting good reviews in Cannes 2005. The distribution reghts of this movie was sold to many major markets.... except in US. Reason: According to ThinkFilm's spokeman, "There are several distributors who want it, but they want it at a price that won't kill them." 3. Dobermann A crime thriller that starring Vincent Cassel and Monica Bellucci. For many moviefans in worldwide, it is a cult classic. Reason: Miramax/Harvey Weinstein has bought the US rights of this movie, and then they do nothing on it. Do your guys have another suggestions? Thanks~~ |

BR is on DVD now though. Quote: 3. Dobermann A crime thriller that starring Vincent Cassel and Monica Bellucci. For many moviefans in worldwide, it is a cult classic. I hear New Police Story was received very well, and Chan's turn in drama was remarkably refreshing. Didn't he win some awards for his work? I don't really have much more knowledge of the film however, including content, direction, etc. |

It just didn't...look right. |

The DVD in Netflix's library is Korea Version DVD or UK DVD. Miramax/Harvey Weinstein has bought Dobermann in 1997. In fact, they also bought the Hong Kong rights of this movie. (my homeland) ![]() |
