I was just thinking about why this film got released in Spain before the U.S? That seems odd considering the extra work that goes into dubbing and international distribution. I've not heard of it yet, what is it supposed to be about. I have my suspicions from the name of the title, but will hold my tongue.
It also has to do with the fact that It was the opening film at the biggest film Festival in Spain, San Sebastian. So the distributor wanted to take advantage of that gree publicity by releasing it shortly after the FF...
I saw the movie back then and found it incredible dissappointing. The premise looked interesting... and then not. Cause It is not the same story told as drama and comedy (that would be very interesting, if anybody wants to pick up that idea and do a movie, I´ll see it) but just the same actress playing two different characters (Both Melindas have not much to do with each other) with a similar starting point (just the idea of Melinda interrupting a dinner with some news) and that´s it... Different actors, different situations, different characters, different stories. One plot didn´t mirror the other at all... was what the point then?
Imagine that other movie, in which two stories have the same actors and the same twists... but one is told as a comedy and the other one as a drama. That I would have found interesting. I guess It all finally comes down to the fact that, on top of that, the comedy part didn´t make me laugh and the dramatic part didn´t move me or even interested me...
