Devastating New Documentary: Twist of Faith
I caught Twist of Faith last night. It was nominated for Best Documentary at the Oscars this year and a Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.
It's so much more than a story about sexual abuse at the hands of a priest. It's a heartbreaking look at how things that happen to children drastically change their adulthood.
There's a scene where Tony, a firefighter in Toledo who was abused as a child has to tell his daughter who's around 9 or so, some of the details of what happened to him because it turns out the priest who abused him moved onto their block.
It's rolling out in NYC and San Fran starting this weekend.
Must see. I give it an A+
