I'm going to go pick up Bride Tomorrow actually. I might have to watch it early due to access to a computer to watch it on. I'm getting pretty psyched though. I've seen the trailer for it twice, and I could instantly see the CTHD source. There's a scene with her (?) and she had this huge white strip of hair in front and was gloating along towards the camera. I heard this is sort of a similar Star-Crossed lovers theme as well.

Did the trailer work for you neo?
I would suggest calling around, maybe pick it up at a place near UofT when you're up there for class/work. Its a college area, like hell they won't have a small video store with a massive martial arts section.
Kypade, let us know what you think. Have you seen it before?

Yeah the trailer worked Thanks Dolce. It was really small the trailer and a bit dark but it looks really good. It seems more overtly romantic than CTHD. But we shall see if it's as tastefully done

The Bride With White Hair was a good martial arts movie, but not a great one. still worth to watch, just don't try to watch the sequel of this one.

I can tell by the make-up on the poster alone that its going to be a much more theatrical feel to it. I don't exactly know what a theatrical feeling honk-kong (?) martial arts movie looks like, but that's what I'm preparing myself for. Look at that face make-up.
I like it actully. Reminds me of Chinese Opera/Theatre make-up.

I'd love to join, but German video stores rarely ever seem to carry old foreign movies and none of those I visit has it, so I am forced to pass on this one.

OMG! What was up with the siamese twin bad guys?!?!?! Bwahahaha!
I actually really enjoyed this movie. It did come off as being very theatrical, but it made the more awkward "flying" scenes work because of it. Just like Pater Pan flies on stage sort of. It also worked well with their sort of wild love scene, since the pond/forest seemed so articifial. I actually found this to be a pleasant refresher from the typical attempt of being realist in movies that are clearly fantastical.
Oh yeah, and the screaming evil brother/sister whatever that thing was is right out of some comic book about mutants.
"So that's what you look like."

Haha! I'm the only one who watched it???? That's why we only do this 'bout once a month.
Anyways, it was quite good actually, and I hope you get the chance to pick it up. Had to do with warring fractions, and the woman works for the evil guys as an in-dept kind of killer. The title man is on her hitlist, so they go about loving eachother but not being allowed to be with eachother. They sneak moments of love in, and finally break away. But she leaves when she's released from the siamese twins' custody. There is a scene in the beginning, for a few brief moments, where the guy is watching over this flower, waiting for her to return for years. Then the whole story is told in flashback basically.
I actually liked the kitsch, because I've always found martial arts characters to be intentionally flat. its part of the genre (which is changing now of course) so all the heightened screaming and melodrama fits the more theatrical setting of the movie. Pretty fun, a bit choppy. I can't tell if it was lower or higher bidget because of it though.
