I don’t see Cynthia Erivo missing, I see Karla missing.

You really think nickel boys a real pain and all we imagine as light and dune part 2 get in over wicked?

I decided to only predict one of Dune 2 and Wicked and thought there could be more of a need for the male Nolan/Villeneuve fan type of voters to find a movie to support.

I wanted to predict 1-2 director nominees to be the surprise artistic or international type nominees and they usually get them into Best Picture like when they got Drive My Car nominated. Nickel Boys apparently is filmed in first person so they could bite on the gimmick and All We Imagined As Light seems like the strongest for random international nom and they could want to nominate an Indian female director.

Actually I'm going to change my rando intl director pick from All We Imagine as Light to I'm Still Here since I remember a point a few years ago that nominate directors of kid actors sometimes like Room and Anatomy of a Fall, it could be a reach to use it since I don't know how many scenes they get in it but if I had to pick any it looks like that's one of the best options with a mom character. Also the director made Motorcycle Diaries and has some other movies I haven't heard of but have high imdb scores so he could get credit for overall career.

Emilia Perez is international that scratches the international itch hopefully.

I think Dune Part 2 is deserving however Wicked has gotten far more precursor noms than it. Plus 2 movies a lot of people have seen out of 10 is not that many.

My last minute prediction is that Dune misses Best Picture and some random foreign movie gets in.

Not bad though they didn't go for the random intl in director as usual.

I feel that Supporting actor is locked up for Culkin, and Actress should go to Moore. Saldana seems to still be the front runner for supporting actress, though hoping the fact that everyone hates Emilia Perez outside of awards voters, plus the AI accent controversy will let Grande upset.

Actor still seems wide open to me. Can't see Brody winning his second oscar with the whole AI accent controversy. Will probably be Chalamet or Fiennes

Emilia Perez just doing it for singing seems ok since people don't sing their own songs half the time anyway, but I agree it could lead to Brody's loss and I think Chalamet may have been too strong after ACU director nom anyway. The Brutalist always seemed like a potential 10 nominees 0 wins movie.

Well the random foreign movie got in but luckily it was A Real Pain that got shut out.

But still ... the direction snub is an all time miss for the academy.
