I somehow feel AQP2 might not get nominated at the usual awards though I want it to we will have to settle for WOKJ MPA nominations in the end. |

Nominating a deaf girl would be pretty woke though... |

I can feel the deaf actress to be a shoe in for the best actress and Emily Blunt in the supporting actress category |

Blunt won the SAG for the first and then wasn’t even nominated at the oscars. It takes alot to break through the genre bias. |

Yes I think current Academy considers horror beneath their reputation. |

Kristen Stewart nomination for Spencer, but the film sounds pretty arty and alienating so I don't expect BP nomination. Jackie 2.0. |

Don’t Look Up should be considered the favorite. Academy clearly loves McKay and its theme of people rejecting science in the face of the apocalypse is Very Current. |

I'll take it as strong contender the rest will depend on the movie itself. |

Did you see the trailer? I’m excited to see this based on the talent and premise, but the trailer did not excite or suggest anything close to BP quality or vibe. Tonally confused, perhaps. |

Wasn't feeling the trailer too much either, I'd guess Vice level reception |

The contenders are really strong with Judi Dench getting big buzz for supporting actress. Otherwise I'd say Amy Adams or Glenn Close would have a chance. Adam's has 6 nominations and no wins. She could get a 7th this time though I'm not sure if she can win. Glenn Close has 8 nominations and stars in Swan Song so who knows how that will go. |

Wasn't Glenn Close in Swan Song with a Albert Noobs movie, I just don't think she can top that one anymore. KStew will not get nominated anytime soon mostly because of general consensus on Twilight (which is hugely wrong BTW). It needs a lot more time for Academy to be forgiving. |

I struck out with my In the Heights thread but I'm going to double down on Lin Manuel Miranda and predict Tick, Tick... Boom! for Best Picture |

The whole black and white memoir about the director's childhood thing seems so thirsty for Oscars... But whatever |

Yeah feels like a Glenn Close getting nominated for an oscar and razzie for the same role type of thing. But hey, they call it oscar bait for a reason and it usually works. Black/white memoirs about the good ole days and doing impressions of famous people from the good ole days is gonna get buzz among this crowd. |

The general consensus on Twilight is very positive lmfao the fans all love it and it’s just the the tiny minutiae of haters who won’t stfu. I love KStew in Twilight and in everything else. And Rob does NOT hate the franchise |

Even if it's submitted it won't be selected. It's not a standalone movie and there are sequels that can feel like standalone movies. Academy never selects movies that are overly dependent on previous material or movies. Same with DS last year. I think Belle has a better chance than EVA. |
