This is not news. Geisha has been billed as an oscar contender since its cast is announced. I wish Zhang Ziyi could get a best actress nomination. Gong Li will definitely be a contender for supporting. |

Honestly, this is already a shoo-in for at least a Best Picture nom. It has an amazing crew and stars the who-is-who of Asian cinema. I also read the story of the movie a while ago when Spielberg was still attached to it. It sounds like a pure oscar bait. |

I love Michelle Yeoh, and Ken, and Zhang but I'm also a realist. Too bad the Academy is xenophobic, otherwise we could see a complete sweep. |

Spielberg had Munich on his radar last year. He stopped production to do War of the Worlds and was waiting for Indiana Jones but that fell through. |
