 Re: Best Actress: 2015
I don't think they will give Blanchett her third Oscar just yet, otherwise I'd be predicting her. Larson will become the frontrunner, I suppose.

 Re: Best Actress: 2015
Saw Sicario yesterday and I enjoyed the film but I don't see the buzz if there is any for Emily Blunt. She did fine in the performance but this was more showy for Del Toro.

Charlotte Rampling will get a lot of critical love and awards for 45 Years and flirt with a nomination, but, I suspect, fall short in the end, à la Tilda Swinton in We Need to Talk About Kevin.

I'm so happy it's likely Brie Larson will be nominated. Such a wonderful young actress who was robbed of a nomination for Short Term 12. Can't wait for Room.

Poor Charlize. They should campaign for her.

Hopefully once Brie wins the Oscar, people will stop talking about how she was shamefully ignored for Short Term 12.

 Re: Best Actress: 2015
Maggie Smith in The Lady in the Van could become a strong contender. The film seems more accessible than the otherwise similarly scaled 45 Years.

 Re: Best Actress: 2015
I am very unsure whether Larson or Ronan is stronger in this race.

Updated predictions:
Cate Blanchett, Carol Brie Larson, Room Rooney Mara, Carol Charlotte Rampling, 45 Years Saoirse Ronan, Brooklyn
I greatly feel that Mara will go Lead here and I think Vikander may too for Danish Girl for which I have her taking out Rampling.

 Re: Best Actress: 2015
Jennifer Lawrence is tremendous in Joy. I firmly believe she will still be nominated even with the film's muted critical response. Plus, it has the box-office muscle.
I do not expect the Academy to play Righteous Defenders of Category Honesty this year. They will place Mara and Vikander in Best Supporting Actress.

 Re: Best Actress: 2015
Rooney Mara will probably remain Supporting (unfairly), but Alicia Vikander will get in here as Lead.
My predictions:
Cate Blanchett Alicia Vikander Brie Larson Saoirse Ronan Charlotte Rampling
