Going to be attending an Oscar party and everyone is to make and bring a dish relating to one of the nominees. Any clever ideas for what one could make?

This is Loyal's field of expertise.

You can always go with some bison for The Revenant or clam chowder for Spotlight.

A glass of water for Mad Max: Fury Road. Cheap and perfectly movie related.

We completed our menu a few weeks ago, it alternates between food puns and themed food.

Mad Max Fury Rolls
Brooklyn Bites
The Big Short Ribs
Bridge of Fries
Straight Outta Wontons
Tom Hardy Stew And Savory Bear Claws
Spotlight on Catholic Perch
Room Shrooms
Tarantino Hateful Ate Tex-Mex

I'm pretty sure he'd appreciate more detail than "Spotlight on Catholic Perch"

As a practicing atheist my information is somewhat limited but as I understand it, for Catholics a "Fish Fry" is a staple. Perch rhymes with Church, so that's the fish we chose. We're doing beer battered perch nuggets with a homemade tartar sauce aka Spotlight on Catholic Perch.

;)

Oh, there's a LOT of cheating this year. By far this was the toughest Oscar meal menu to come up with. We ultimately moved The Martian, Star Wars, and The Danish Girl to the drink menu.

What's The Martian's drink?

The Danish Girl would have been really simple for food, though.

The Martian (Martian Margaritas), The Force Awakens (Light & Dark Shooters), and The Danish Girl (Eddie Red Mania).

We'd thought of recreating some of the meals we had in Copenhagen but honestly Danish food isn't my favourite.

I guess that's another "party theme" that's in keeping the Oscars this year.

Peace,
