 Re: BAFTA winners
No real surprises. I'm still thinking a Revenant trouncing with Actor Director Pic and a slew of techs.

 Re: BAFTA winners
I'm still not sure if The Revenant will win Best Picture at the Oscars. The only places The Revenant has won Best Picture are at the Globes and at BAFTA - both awards bodies that did not award Birdman (and Inarritu) last year. PGA, which has a preferential ballot like the Best Picture Oscar, didn't end up awarding The Revenant.
I also recall someone saying that never in the history of the Oscars has films directed by the same individual won Best Picture back-to-back.
I already see Inarritu winning Best Director, which is already pretty historic as is, as you have to go all the way back to 1950 for the last time the same director has won Best Director back-to-back. Then again, the DGA already made a historic move in rewarding Inarritu two years in a row.
So, I don't know what to think anymore!! :S I'm leaving toward Spotlight or The Big Short winning the Best Picture Oscar with the preferential ballot (and winning Best Picture with maybe only one or two other Oscar wins), and The Revenant winning Director/Actor and whatever tech awards it wins.
If The Revenant wins Best Picture & Best Director - then jeez, all I can say is way to go Inarritu on having his films win Best Picture back-to-back and Best Director back-to-back. If this is what happens, that will be truly historic. This year still boggles my mind!
Peace, Mike

 Re: BAFTA winners
Even though SAG was so off base this year, one thing I go back to is Spotlight winning there. Because if The Revenant was their Best Picture horse, with how the rest of the night went it would have been really easy to give Ensemble to Straight Outta Compton, just like the Elba win with the future Oscar winner not being an option, their back-up choice being used as a black make-up
