The competition is too weak. Redmaybe won't win twice, Depp he's never been on anyone's list for taking it home, Fassbender is a big challenger, his roles will be good, but don't seem Oscar winning from the outset. My money's still on Leo, so out.

Often when someone goes unnoticed for a long time they do win with a film that has relatively little fanfare (compared to others before it), so Leo could win this year. I'd much prefer to see Fassbender or Caine win, though.

How would he be stealing from Leo? Have you seen any of these performances?
Being overdue by anyone's standards shouldn't be a factor at who gets the prize. Leo will get the Oscar, but I'm unsure if it will be this year. If they were so concerned with him being overdue, he would have won already. I think Fassbender and Redmayne have more traditionally baity roles, and they are receiving great reviews for their work. Leo's role in The Revenant seems unusual. If The Revenant gets rave reviews and his performance is praised, then he might be a strong contender. But I hardly think he would be undeniable.

Yep. Totally.

To be honest, I've never felt like he deserved to win an Oscar in his adult years (his child performances were much better). He never transforms himself. He's always Leo. Yeah, he acts well, but he never pushes himself into that area of consuming another character.

I don't think a film where he barely talks will be the one that does it for him. Devil in the White City is looking good for his time. If that doesn't work just play a Nazi to get that Oscar over with
