Now I would say no, as there generally are not as many award worthy performances available to women as there are to men (look at this years' musical or comedy actresses at the Globes!). But eventually as women have more quality roles available, I think there should be no gender divide. |

What would be the point? Society would not allow any year where there is more male nominations than female ones, so the idea is pointless. |

I'm generally not in favor of that but if it were done there would need to be adjustments. There are certain roles women can do and certain roles men can do. Combining categories would only make sense if you created other categories to replace the merging of the acting categories and/or increase the number of nominees to 7 per acting category. |

I'm sure it would work for a smaller or new type of award. Though it's almost mixing TV with film performances. No reason to change the awards shows, the fact that they make more categories is better imo. It's not like every year they think best actor is better than best actress. If the gloves combined with the oscars it'd be ideal. |

Of course not. The system has been working for 80+ years. Why mess with something that isn't broken? If anything they could increase the nominees by one or two. I would be for that. |

Exactly, who wants to see the best performance of the year. It'd be over in 2 mins. I'm still pissed over Keaton losing. I was out of country too, which was the worst. |

It would need adjustments, like a tournament style thing. I'd love that actually, would be so entertaining. |
