I believe many critical groups may cite The Immigrant throughout the season. There is obviously a deep respect for James Gray in several circles and, by extension, disdain for the way the Weinsteins tried to bury his well-received film.

They were going to vote for Birdman, I hear, but then they remembered it depicts an NY newspaper critic with slightly fewer redeeming qualities than Buffalo Bill.
