Out. Its not catching on at the box office very well. There is an outside chance it makes less than the Hurt Locker. |

Nope. The one award that I thought was a lock (Keaton) is looking less likely as the competition is pretty fierce. |

Birdman has had "3rd or 4th place in Best Picture, gets Director nomination, never has any chance at winning" written all over it for months |

^ Yep, this. It is one of those films that seem certain to get a shitload of noms and barely win anything. Its best shots are Keaton and maybe Cinematography. |

Maybe Norton can win Best Supporting Actor. I believe J. K. Simmons delivers a far superior performance and would choose him over Norton in Birdman without hesitation, but Whiplash has a lower profile. And Norton is a respected actor with multiple nominations, but no trophy yet. |

Out. It's my favorite movie of the year to date, but it's so meta that I have difficulty with seeing the Academy embrace it to the extent necessary for a Best Picture win. |

Doesn't Supporting normally go old actor and Actor go younger for the Men? |

This probably has the best chance at an upset, except maybe, just maybe American Sniper. But Boyhood will win. |

In retrospect, Birdman probably won very comfortably and it wasn't even close. Gravity or even American Hustle was probably closer in voting to 12 Years a Slave than Boyhood (or whatever was #2) was to Birdman. |
