I am not sure whether that has been mentioned, but with his nom for The Wolf of Wall Street (8th overall), Scorsese tied Billy Wilder for the 2nd-most nominations in the Best Director category. He has been nominated for five out of his last six feature films. I am wondering, whether he still has enough creative juices (and lifetime) left, to catch up with William Wyler's 12. That'd be something. Scorsese is the only one I could possibly see catching up with Wyler for the next 20-25 years... If that Silence film, that already sounds Oscar-baity as hell, finally happens, that's another nom right there. |

Well I didn't look up Clint, but he's been old as H and he is still directing. Idk who's older but I think Marty won't break that record. |

Marty could keep doing this for a while. But at this level? I don't know. But I wouldn't bet against it. I'll say he makes it to 12. |

I say realistically, if he can keep making movies for another 12 years, I believe he'll make it. The least I see are 10 noms. I am also pretty sure that he will win again. |

He probably has about 3 films left in him I suspect. He's making Silence but hopefully he still makes The Irishman and Sinatra. |
