Who gets the "Hammer"? (last one shown)

Gotta be O'Toole, right?

I would presume O'Toole, yes. If not him, perhaps Paul Walker because of his relative youth and the abrupt, violent nature of his death.

Either O'Toole or Roger Ebert.

I don't think there's any doubt about this. It'll be O'Toole.

It will be O'Toole as Lawrence of course.

And the final scene will be Lawrence blowing out the match.

Don't they tend to show a couple brief clips for the final actor?

I presume we will also see a bit of Hepburn/O'Toole banter from The Lion in Winter. Maybe a shot of his emotional reaction during the final siege in Troy.

Unless an even bigger death happens between now and then, it has to be O'Toole. But that's assuming that they don't give him a separate tribute during the show.

I think it'll be Paul Walker.

Nah, it'll still be O'Toole. He is Hollywood royalty.

I hope they don't forget Maximilian Schell, who died yesterday and is also a best actor winner.

Yeah they will show Schell he did win an Oscar and was a great actor.

They will forget Tom Laughlin.

I thought they only included people who died in 2013?

That would be a cruel policy to ignore those who had most recently died and are therefore freshest in everyone's grief. It's between Oscar ceremonies as far as I remember.

Due to nature of his death, Hoffman will not be last, surely.

Hoffman missed the deadline by two day. It covers between February 1 - January 31. He should be included in next year's tribute.

Dammit, should have hurried.

They should include him this year. Don't tell me they can't when they have almost a month. Open with him and then slowly fade in with the music and begin to play the montage in its current state.

It is a major, before-his-time death of a great and popular actor. It will be so strange playing a memorial montage without him.

Right now the only ones that I think could take the last spot away from O'Toole are Spielberg, Eastwood, Scorsese and maybe Kirk Douglas.

The Daily Show had a great little tribute to Hoffman the other day.
