http://www.deadline.com/2013/09/oscars- ... ore-592912 I'm glad they're trying but it probably won't make much difference. I loved the movie but McConaughey is getting nominated for Dallas Buyers Club and even though they're smartly campaigning him for Supporting for Mud I doubt he scores two nominations, unless the other is for Supporting for Wolf of Wall Street. Tye Sheridan gave the best performance in the film. Too bad he couldn't get a nomination. It could score a nomination for Screenplay. |

It seems to me a natural contender for best original screenplay: idiosyncratic and Southern fried dialogue and characters, the blending of a Twain style children-on-the-river adventure with a very adult crime and love story, etc. |
