Out of Scorsese's last five (fictional) films, four were nominated for BP. In total, these four got 37 nominations and won 14 Oscars. Scorsese's career is probably going better than ever right now. DiCaprio and McConaughey's careers are absolutely hot as well. I believe this will be a MAJOR player. Another BD nom for Scorsese will see it inching closer to William Wylers record. Only Wyler and Billy Wilder got more than 7 BD noms. Scorsese would join them. He could also very well end up winning again. Afterall, only him and Woody Allen have seven BD noms so far and only one win...

DiCaprio HAS to win for Best Actor, doesn't he?! With this and his performance in Gatsby, something has finally got to give.

But this does look aces and should be a big financial and critical success.

I expect the box office on this to be huge which means the already strong buzz on this SHOULD result in at least a couple of wins if received well.

I'm sure it'll get a lot of nominations but I doubt Leo will win for this. It at least looks like a lark and not like DiCaprio is really stretching himself. Then again, so did SLP and Jennifer Lawrence so maybe... But I think he'll have to wait awhile yet.

DDL played a tragic historical white savior figure. Perfect Oscar bait. Leo looks like he's playing a sleazy version of himself.

I'm not saying it won't be a major player. I'm sure it will be nominated for a slew of awards... But in order for Leo or Scorsese to win it's going to have to be on par with The Departed. Which would be rad.

I hope they re-release the trailer to 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' to prevent that.
